Kings United Way is focused on building partnership with local stakeholders to develop the best community possible.

We advance this mission by empowering our citizens to donate their time, talents and money to work with the best possible partners to make sure services for people in need are available.

Whether it is addressing chronic homelessness, child health and wellness, or advocacy for seniors, our goal is to develop a community of healthy children, thriving students, responsive adults, and active seniors.

When you need to find the services in your community to help you through difficult times, dial 2-1-1. Or at least that is how some of our county residents access the 2-1-1 Social Services directory. Others visit the web, opting to search through 211kingscounty.org and access all the information that way.

However, in our day the phone call is slowly becoming an afterthought when it comes to hunting down information. The trends are pointing to the smartphone, with the ability to download apps for so many services and businesses, as well as the ability to browse search engines. Our Director of Marketing & Technology, Fedieson Landicho, noticed this and has actually been developing a mobile application for 2-1-1 users in Kings & Tulare counties.

The Hanford Sentinel wrote all about it and made it the front page story for today. If you are interested in reading the story in a digital format, click here.
