Kings United Way has a new intern, and we're very excited for you to meet him. This is Payton Wescoat of Hanford. A member of our staff had the opportunity to sit down and talk to this budding young prodigy and really get to know him.
Let’s see what he had to say:
So Payton, what are you currently studying?
“I’m studying computer information systems at West Hills College Lemoore, though I am looking to get my degree in business marketing.”
What do you hope to learn at Kings United Way during your internship?
“The way Kings United Way does marketing, what an office environment is like, community outreach. I’ve been interested in seeing how all of the preparation and behind the scenes work comes together to do successful community outreach.”
Do you have any future goals or aspirations?
“I’m just going with the flow. I don’t have a 5 or 10 year plan, but I have a general direction that I’m following. I’d like to work within the nonprofit community because I like the small office/personal feel that many of these agencies have.”
When you have spare time, what do you like to do?
“I have no spare time! All joking aside, I really enjoy spending time with my friends and playing video games. I also co-own a board and card game making company with some of my friends. We are called Hex-d Gaming and so far we have launched one game with more on the way.”
Can you talk about the game at all?
“It’s called Welcome to Darling: Adorable Outbreak. Without giving too much away, it’s about zombies coming in and taking over the town of Darling.”
That sounds great, now can you tell us about the nicest place you’ve ever been?
“Big Sur, California. Going there was an experience! It’s a very serene place, and we were at this beach that has a portal to the sun. A friend and I watched the ocean, and we’re big fanatics of the oceans.”
We’re very lucky to have Payton as part of our team, and we’re thankful for the help and personality he’s brought to our office. We know you’re going to make an impact wherever you go, but for now we are proud to call you part of the Kings United Way family.
