Kings United Way is focused on building partnership with local stakeholders to develop the best community possible.

We advance this mission by empowering our citizens to donate their time, talents and money to work with the best possible partners to make sure services for people in need are available.

Whether it is addressing chronic homelessness, child health and wellness, or advocacy for seniors, our goal is to develop a community of healthy children, thriving students, responsive adults, and active seniors.

Agency Spotlight: Kings SPCA Rescue

Payton Wescoat

Kings SPCA was founded in 1960, and has been serving Kings County for over 50 years by providing care to displaced or stray animals, and finding their "fur-ever" homes. I got the chance to stop by last weekend and talk with their staff about what they do and why they’re making such an impact.

“There is no condition that can’t be fixed, no problem too big.” That was a sentence that was brought up several times in our conversation. The staff at Kings SPCA works tirelessly to rehabilitate the animals placed in their care to ensure that they find a loving home. During my short visit at Kings SPCA I encountered several dogs and each had a unique story, from a brother and sister that had been rescued from another shelter, to a puppy that had swimmer syndrome and had to be taught how to walk. Every animal there has a background, and every animal is given the individual attention, love and care that they deserve. Kings SPCA puts in all of the work necessary to fix what needs to be fixed to find these animals their loving fur-ever homes.

We encourage you to check out Woofstock on October 1st at the Lemoore Raceway. This is going to be a fun afternoon of live music, games, food and much more, and you won't want to miss out! If you’re looking to volunteer, they are still looking for lots of help to set up and run the event! To sign up to be a volunteer, simply fill out the volunteer application on their website below, or at the rescue.
