What is Employee Giving?
Employee Giving is a simple, voluntary way for employees to support local causes through payroll deduction. Instead of making one-time donations, employees can choose to contribute a small amount from each paycheck weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or at another schedule that works best for them. Even a few dollars each pay period can add up to make a meaningful difference for individuals and families throughout Kings County.
Participation is completely optional, and employees remain in control of their giving at all times. They decide how much to donate, which Kings United Way affiliate or community cause they would like to support, and can increase, decrease, pause, or stop their contribution whenever they choose. Once a pledge form is completed, payroll deduction makes giving automatic, eliminating the need to remember monthly donations or write checks.

For employers, Employee Giving is an easy-to-administer benefit that helps strengthen workplace culture without requiring a financial contribution from the company. By simply providing employees with the opportunity to give back, organizations demonstrate a commitment to the community while empowering their teams to make a local impact.
Every donation made through Kings United Way stays in Kings County, supporting trusted nonprofit organizations that provide food assistance, housing support, youth programs, senior services, family resources, and other essential community programs. Together, small contributions from many employees create lasting change and help build a stronger, healthier community for everyone.
Why Employees Like to Participate?
Employee Giving makes supporting local causes simple, flexible, and meaningful. Through convenient payroll deduction, employees can make a lasting impact with an amount that fits their budget—whether it's just a few dollars each paycheck or a larger recurring gift. It's completely voluntary, tax-deductible, and can be changed or stopped at any time. Best of all, employees know their generosity is helping strengthen the Kings County community by supporting trusted local programs and families in need.

Where Your Gift Goes?
When you give through Employee Giving, you're investing in your own community.
